Born in the Disco Era, Drew grew up around the United States as a military brat. One of his claims to fame is attending three high schools in four years—one of which was in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba—and no, he didn’t order the infamous Code Red. Moving every few years and always being the new kid trying to fit in led a naturally shy youngster to be mesmerized by the larger-than-life DJs he heard on the radio.  Practicing in his bedroom to become the next host of American Top 40, Drew was able to realize his dream as a radio DJ in college. It was there he met his co-host Joe by chance on a dark and stormy night in a basement radio studio. The duo co-hosted a wildly successful dance mix show for several years until graduation. Flash forward 30+ years and he’s been reunited with Joe as one half of the Singly Married Podcast—breaking down life & relationships as only they can!

To say that Joe is grateful for his country upbringing would be an understatement.  Joe learned the value of hard-work, honesty and integrity in all aspects of life during those formative years on the farm. Farm work was hard, but he felt a sense of pride, although his dreams were bigger than the corn crib.  Upon high school graduation, Joe knew that the college route was the right avenue to follow.  So, he packed up his belongings, said good-bye to country life and headed off to get his big-city education.  During this opportunity, Joe happened upon a radio station.  The station was filled with the kind of music that Joe had not really heard on the farm.  The beats were magnetic, the pulse electric and the lyrics were mesmerizing.  Joe had found New Jack Swing!  Needing to be a part of this, he joined the radio station as a DJ.  It was a chance happening that brought him to meet Drew. The club show that Drew and Joe put together was not only successful, but created a bond between two people of unlike upbringings. Thirty years may have passed since that chance meeting, but the sound and the friendship lived on.  Now, Drew and Joe are working together one more time to bring you your favorite podcast, SINGLY MARRIED!
